About… me
A keen ‘doodler’ with a love of vintage cars, retro ads, old books, beautiful typography and crafty kerning. I play Cornet in a local brass band, own a Nissan Figaro (see love vintage cars) and am owned by Arthur, a rather bonkers bengal.
I’ve worked with a wide range of clients producing varied work and have over 20 years experience of doing so. With previous roles including studio manager, design manager, senior designer, artworker and illustrator – I've learnt a fair few things along the way too...
If you’d like to find out more about me, my work, or how I can help you, please do get in touch.

I began my training at a printers and learnt my trade the old school way. Creating bromides, spotting out films, hand stitching/collating booklets and making the tea (a most essential element) whilst simultaneously educating myself in the new, and rather magical, ‘apple mac’ way of design (it involved a lot of time staring at a spinning ball on the screen). Besides patience (see spinning ball) working there taught me a lot about the print processes required before you get a finished booklet/leaflet/poster – there’s a lot that has to happen before the ink actually hits the page – plus I’m still quite handy with a tea-bag contrary to what some people may say.
To advance my career, I headed for the bright lights, big city of London town where I honed my design skills. Fun times were had (who doesn’t enjoy jumping on the back of a moving bus?) but the lure of the hills brought me home several years later where my methodical nature and insatiable appetite for detail eventually lead to a role in studio management. As challenging as it was, I missed the ‘nitty-gritty’ of being hands-on, so when redundancy came along to kick-start my career, I took the opportunity to launch myself as freelancer. I’ve never looked back.
